I LOVE an acai bowl!
We have a local breakfast/brunch place in town called Seven Mile Cafe….I blame them for my love of acai bowls!
Not only does this spot have THE best hashbrowns on the planet (and a darn good cinnamon roll!) but they also have a list of acai bowls that sparked my attention one day. I tried one there and fell in love!
As I started to figure out how to make them myself, I got a little overwhelmed by all the options, which is why this recipe is super simple…yet still delicious!
This is basically bowls for beginners…make the base, tweak it to taste and choose the toppings that sound best to you! These bowls are easy and quick to make and are perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch or a snack!
This recipe makes 1 large bowl or two smaller bowls (like those shown above)
Ingredients:
Acai Base:
2 3.5 ox frozen unsweetened acai puree packets
I used this Sambazon brand from Whole Foods
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup of milk (dairy, almond or soy will work)
2/3 cup frozen berries
3 teaspoons of honey
You will need a blender for the base.
Possible Toppings (although anything goes!)
Sliced banana, strawberries, blueberries or fruits of your choice
Coconut
Granola
Mini Chocolate chips
Directions:
Thaw the acai packet by running hot water over it for about 30 seconds. Break it into 3-4 pieces and put it in your blender.
Add the banana, milk, frozen berries and honey.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into a bowl, top with toppings and enjoy immediately!
So easy, delicious and pretty too!
