“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” -F. Scott Fitzgerald
It’s always CRISP up in this house, but I definitely do feel like life starts again in the fall!! Today I am thrilled to be joining six talented bloggers to share fall spaces in our homes! If you are here from Brendt’s beautiful blog, She Gave It A Go, welcome! I loved her practical tips for creating an inviting fall home, and I’m sure you did too! I’m Bethany Crisp, and I’m so excited to share my simple Fall tablescape with you today!
I realize that tablescapes like this may not be the most practical for day to day life. My table is definitely not always “dressed”, but my hope is that sharing this will inspire you to create your own tablescape for those occasions that you do want to add some special touches….holiday dinners (Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before we know it!), showers, parties, and special family get togethers. Love is in the details!
For this particular tablescape my inspiration was apples…and guess what type of apples I bought? Honey CRISP!
I loved the colors, and am always a fan of decor you can eat! Another perk of using apples, or any seasonal produce, is that it’s very inexpensive. I bought 2 bags of these apples for $3 each and boom…half my tablescape was done. The white pumpkins were Home Goods purchases and the greenery is all from Hobby Lobby. The wood slices were cut from a neighbor’s tree and served to help create levels, as did the centerpiece cake stand and copper candle holders.
I wanted to tie in the yellow in these apples in the linens, and was excited to find these napkins at World Market.
The beauty of this tablescape is that it is very simple to recreate for every season. The white runner, straw and galvanized chargers ,white plates, and dough bowl all serve as basic backgrounds that can be used year round. Just add seasonal fruit, some fresh napkins that add a pop of color, some new greenery (fresh or faux) and you’re done!
I hope that next time you’re in the grocery store you’ll look around and see what pretty produce could easily double as pretty decor!
And should you choose apples, be sure to check out my apple recipe roundup so they don’t go to waste.
You can find all the recipes here.
After all, an apple a day keeps the doctor away…or was it wine?
