Is there anything that screams summer more than a watermelon margarita?
Bonus points that this one is very fresh….no mixes….lower cal than traditional margaritas, and you can even add some spice for a little kick!
I wish I was drinking one poolside now!
Ingredients for 1 Margarita:
2 cups of fresh watermelon chunks
1/4 cup Silver Tequila
Juice from 2 small limes
Ice for shaking
2-4 slices of jalapeno, depending on how much spice you like!
1 teaspoon agave- The watermelon adds a lot of natural sweetness, so you can skip this if you don’t want too much sweetness!
Tajin for the rim of your glass-optional, but SO good!
Lime round to garnish
Directions:
Pour tajin onto a small plate. Use a lime to wet the rim of your glass. Dip the glass into the tajin and roll until rim is coated.
Place your watermelon chunks in a blender or food processor and blend. Pour the cotents through a strainer to get just the juice. Should be around 1/2 a cup.
Add watermelon juice, tequila, lime juice, ice and jalapeno slices to a shaker and shake 15-30 seconds
Strain into a glass, over ice if you prefer, and garnish with a lime round.
Taste your drink and add agave only if you feel like it needs the extra sweetness!
This is for one magarita, but you can obviously double, triple, etc. the measurements to make more! Sharing is caring!
I also grabbed this huge board that we found HERE, and covered it with some of our favorite fruits-cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries, and watermelon! It was super, colorful easy, and our crew ate it up quick!
