Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls and a Kid-Friendly Smoothie

February 10, 2018

Valentine’s Day falls mid-week this year, so I thought I would share a super easy, festive breakfast that can be made in minutes!

Hint:  These cinnamon rolls come from a can….homemade cinnamon rolls on a weekday morning?  Ain’t nobody got time for that!

And this kid-friendly smoothie is great anytime, but the strawberries make me think of Valentine’s Day!  It’s also got spinach hidden in there, but your kids will never know!  Score!

Ingredients for Cinnamon Rolls:

1 can of cinnamon rolls with frosting – I got this one.

Sprinkles (optional, but fun!)

Directions:

Take cinnamon rolls out of the can and unravel each one.  Shape them into hearts….each heart is actually 2 cinnamon rolls!  1 roll forms each side, so instead of 8 rolls, you will have four hearts.  Be sure the side with more cinnamon is facing up!

Cook according to package directions.  Let cool and add frosting and sprinkles.

Ingredients for Strawberry Spinach Smoothie:

Yields 3-4 smoothies

2 cups of strawberries, hulled and halved

2 cups of ice

1 5.3 oz container of non-fat vanilla Greek yogurt

2 tablespoons of honey

1 teaspoon of vanilla

1 cup of spinach, washed

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a blender.  Blend until smooth.  Serve immediately.

I hope these little treats start your Valentine’s Day off right!  Sending lots of love your way!
