This is one of those super simple recipes that is so easy it makes you think surely you must have forgotten something!
These chicken drumsticks are perfect for a weeknight, game day (hello Superbowl Sunday!) or anytime you just need an easy, quick meal!
Fall off the bone tender and my boys think they are so fun to eat!
Full disclosure: I don’t like to eat meat on the bone. It’s not rational….I just don’t like it! Haha! So I don’t eat these, but my boys are never shy about telling me what they like and don’t like, and these are always a hit!
Ingredients:
Drumsticks- 2-3 lbs generally fit easily in a standard crockpot
1 bottle of bbq sauce, divided – I used Sweet Baby Rays
1 cup of water or chicken stock
1 white onion, sliced (optional)
Slow cooker liner for easy cleanup
Directions:
Place water or chicken stock and onions at the bottom of the slow cooker. Put drumsticks on top and cover generously with BBQ sauce.
Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours. Remove from slow cooker and brush with additional BBQ sauce.
This recipe could also easily be remixed with different flavors as well….cilantro lime, honey garlic, lemon pepper….the sky’s the limit!
