I’ve shared this slow cooker Dr. Pepper pulled pork before with cornbread waffles (amazing!) but I wanted to share these sliders with apple broccoli slaw as another option!
We love this slow cooker pulled pork this time of year! It is so easy and great for serving a crowd! The apple broccoli slaw adds a little crunch and is pretty healthy the way we make it! Anytime I get my kids to eat broccoli in any form, I call that a win!
Whether you make it to feed friends coming over to watch the game or on a busy weeknight for your fam, this recipe is sure to please!
Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork
Ingredients:
1 pork butt/shoulder (3-5 lbs)
2 cans o Dr. Pepper- the real deal, no diet
12-18 oz of your favorite BBQ sauce, divided
Pulled Pork Directions:
Line your slow cooker with a liner and set pork inside. Top with Dr. Pepper and BBQ sauce, leaving a little BBQ sauce for topping at the end. Cook 6-8 hours on high. When meat is ready you should be able to easily shred it with two forks.
Broccoli Apple Slaw
Ingredients:
1 bag of broccoli slaw mix, I usually get this one
2-3 apples, chopped
1 cup Greek yogurt
2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
Optional add ins:
Dried cranberries
Almonds
Walnuts
Raisins
Slaw Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, striving to evenly coat all ingredients with the Greek yogurt. Salt and pepper to taste. Keep in the fridge until ready to serve.
Sliders:
Grab the bread or bun of your choosing…we usually use King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls. Place a heaping spoonful of the pulled pork on the bun and top with the slaw. Add additional BBQ sauce if you’d like and enjoy!
