I live in Texas and guacamole and pico de gallo are basically staples here!
My family eats them on tacos, on eggs, on chips…never a bad time for either one in our house!
I thought I would share these simple, tried and true recipes if you are in the mood to whip up these delicious dips on your own! Plus many of the ingredients are the same, so you can easily pick them up together at the store!
Grab a chip and let’s get started….
Guacamole Ingredients:
3 ripe avocados
1/2 small red onion, diced
2 roma tomatoes, diced
3 tablespoons of cilantro, diced
1 jalapeno pepper, diced and seeds removed—-skip this if your family can’t take the heat!
1 tablespoon minced garlic (also optional)
The juice of 1 lime
Salt to taste
Directions:
Peel and slice the avocados, removing the pit. Place in a bowl and mash with a fork to your desired chunkiness. Add the remaining ingredients and stir together. Salt to taste!
That’s it! Easy and delicious!
