This Dr. Pepper slow cooker pulled pork is a staple at our house!
In can be made in a big batch and used in a number of recipes! Today I used it to make these sliders!
Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork
Ingredients:
1 pork butt/shoulder (3-5 lbs)
2 cans of Dr. Pepper- the real deal, no diet
12-18 oz of your favorite BBQ sauce, divided
Pulled Pork Directions:
Line your slow cooker with a liner and set pork inside. Top with Dr. Pepper and BBQ sauce, leaving a little BBQ sauce for topping at the end. Cook 6-8 hours on high. When meat is ready you should be able to easily shred it with two forks.
Once your pork is done (you can even make it overnight!), it will take about 20 minutes to make your slider!
Slow Cooker Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork
Ingredients
- 3-5 lb Pork Butt or Pork Roast
- 2 cans Dr. Pepper No diet, the real deal!
- 12-18 oz BBQ sause divided
- Slow Cooker Liner For easy cleanup
Instructions
- Line your slow cooker and set pork inside.
- Top with Dr. Pepper and BBQ sauce, leaving a little BBQ sause for topping at the end.
- Cook 6-8 hours on high.
- When meat is ready, you should be able to easily shred with two forks.
Slider Ingredients:
Cooked Pulled pork
1 package of rolls
Cheese of your choice (we used white cheddar)
Butter
Glaze Ingedients:
2 tablespoons of butter, melted While
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon of brown sugar
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Cut rolls in half with a large knife, keeping them connected.
Butter the rolls and toast for 3-5 minutes or until lightly browned.
Take out of the oven and add pulled pork and thinly sliced cheese.
Place back in the oven for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
While you are waiting for the cheese to melt, mix ingredients for the glaze.
Take out of the oven and put sliders together.
Brush on the butter glaze and enjoy!
A savory meal that is great for dinner or gameday!
You can also use this slow cooker pulled pork for this recipe with a corbread waffle and slaw!
